Steelers’ Maurkice Pouncey Wants to Join Antonio Brown’s Arena Team
Two former Pittsburgh Steelers want to team up in the Arena Football League.

PITTSBURGH — Two former Pittsburgh Steelers are considering teaming up and playing together in the Arena Football League this season.

Former Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey posted on Instagram that if Brown, who owns the AFL’s Albany Empire, signed he and his brother Mike to a contract, they would play in a game. Brown himself has promised he will play for the Empire at some point this season but has yet to dress for a game. Still, Brown was excited about the possibility of reuniting with his old teammate.

“Big announcement @MaurkicePouncey Twins would be first time HOF twins play together professionally #BusinessBoomin #StayTuned,” Brown wrote on Twitter.

Both the Pouncey’s and Brown are far removed from their NFL careers. Maurkice last played a game in December of 2020 before retiring, Mike’s last professional game was in October of 2019 and Brown left the NFL in January of 2021.

Brown had said he would play last week for the Empire, leading to fans selling out the team’s home arena, but he failed to show, citing paperwork as the reason why he did not play.
