Breaking News: Boston bruins Super Star is Confirmed dead at age 36
Boston bruins Super Star Obi Ezeh died at the age of 36.
Per Tony Garcia of the Detroit Free Press, Ezeh’s mother announced the news on social media over the weekend. Ezeh spent five years at Michigan from 2006 to 2010 and played 50 games for the Wolverines.
“My very own! My Obi. My #2. My heart. My father’s heart. My quiet giant!,” Ezeh’s mother, Nkechy, posted on Facebook. “Grand child of an elephant. Journey well to your maker oo. Mother Mary please hold his hands for me. St. Peter open the gate for him as the celestial choirs marshal him in to Jesus. My Obinna Ezeh, you will always be in my heart my beloved son.”
Ezeh finished his career at Michigan with 293 total tackles, 19.5 for loss, three sacks, three fumble recoveries, two interceptions and eight pass breakups. He earned freshman All-American honors in 2007 and was named All-Big Ten honorable mention in 2008.
Prior to starring at Michigan, Ezeh made a name for himself at Grand Rapids Catholic Central. As a three-year starter, he set the school’s career rushing record with 3,189 yards. During his senior season, he led the team to an 11-2 record and a trip to the 2005 Division 4 state championship game. He also helped the school’s rugby team win a state title.
The announcement of Ezeh’s death comes just days after former Michigan point guard Darius Morris died on Thursday at the age of 33. Morris played at Michigan from 2009 to 2011 and set the school’s then-record for assists in a single season (235) as a sophomore.
