SAD NEWS : Steelers legend Alan faneca reportedly confirm dead at 47 from…😢 😭

LSU legend Alan Faneca is featured on the College Football Hall of Fame ballot

Faneca was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021

Earlier this week, The Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame announced the names for the ballot induction into the Hall. There are 77 players and 9 coaches from the football bowl subdivision and numerous more from lower divisions up for enshrinement.

There is only one LSU Tiger on the ballot this year. It’s a little surprising that it took this long since he was an All-American in 1997 and a two time first team SEC.

He also went on to be named to 9 Pro Bowls in the NFL as well as a member of the 2000s all decade team. He is a Super Bowl champion and a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Honor. And in 2021, the Pro Football Hall of Fame opened its doors for the legendary LSU Tiger, Alan Faneca.

Faneca’s bio from HOF ballot:

Alan Faneca, LSU-Offensive Guard-1997 consensus First Team All-American and LSU’s first-ever Outland Trophy finalist…Two-time First Team All-SEC selection and 1997 Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner, helping the Tigers lead the SEC in rushing his final two seasons…Helped LSU to three bowl wins and consecutive top-15 final rankings.

If Faneca is inducted, he will be the 14th LSU Tiger enshrined in Atlanta, with the last being Kevin Falk in 2022.
