Kim can certainly take a lot of positives from this performance, with Scheffler competing in his first play-off on the PGA Tour since 2022.

Some would have always felt that Scheffler was going to get the job done at some stage on Sunday, so it is testament to what a promising talent Kim is that Scheffler could not win the event inside 72 holes.

Kim has already won three times on the PGA Tour despite only turning 22 last week, so there is so much time for him to improve further and make sure that he is regularly competing with the likes of Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy in the biggest events.

He has been so impressive on the course over the last few years, particularly since sparking the International team into life at the 2022 Presidents Cup.

As it turns out, many between the ropes have clearly been just as impressed by Kim.
